1.Aircraft Import & Custodial Management
Aircraft import and management are common challenges for individuals and enterprises during the aircraft purchase process. Avion has a team of highly professional and experienced general aviation management specialists, who can provide import and custodial management services for helicopters and business jets. We also assist clients in applying for operational permits, establishing operational mechanisms, and training relevant operational personnel.
Avion is committed to providing you with a one-stop service covering aircraft sales, import, custodial management and aviation materials supply!
2.Helicopter Operational Support
Since 1993, the company has launched a number of cooperative projects across the South China Sea, East China Sea, Bohai Sea, Xinjiang, Sichuan and Yunnan regions. We have established partnerships with domestic general aviation companies including China Southern Airlines Zhuhai Helicopter Company, China Eastern General Aviation Corporation, Guangdong Baiyun General Aviation Corporation and Guangdong Provincial General Aviation Corporation, as well as foreign aviation enterprises such as Zimex Aviation (Switzerland), Air Power Australia, ERA Aviation (USA) and the Aviation Department of ExxonMobil. We provide helicopter, small fixed-wing aircraft and business jet services for both offshore and onshore operations.
In 1994, Avion introduced ERA Helicopters, the second-largest helicopter company in the United States, and formed a partnership with China Southern Airlines Zhuhai Helicopter Company, winning a three-year long-term contract for Amoco's offshore oil services (equipped with two Super Puma aircraft).
Also in 1994, Avion imported three PC-6 aircraft from Switzerland's Zimex Aviation, and in cooperation with China Southern Airlines Zhuhai Helicopter Company, provided services for the onshore oil projects of Esso and Agip in Xinjiang.
By the end of 1996, Avion commenced cooperation with China Eastern General Aviation Corporation. Starting from 1997, we have successively assisted China Eastern General Aviation in winning numerous contracts with Texaco USA, Phillips Petroleum, Kerr-McGee, Chevron China and Esso. To this day, we have been providing services for these projects with S-76A and Bell 212 helicopters. During this period, Avion also assisted in the introduction of Australia’s Helicopter Resources Pty Ltd.
In 1999, Avion brought in the aviation geophysical prospecting project of BHP, a large multinational mining and petroleum company. A Lama helicopter was deployed for the project, with China Southern Airlines Zhuhai Helicopter Company as the Chinese cooperative partner.
In 2001, Avion introduced a prospecting project from WMC Resources, one of the world’s largest mining companies. We collaborated with Yangjiang General Aviation Corporation and Guangdong Provincial General Aviation Corporation respectively to successfully complete an aviation geophysical prospecting project and an ore sampling project in Jinping County of Yunnan Province and near the No.1 Glacier in Xinjiang. A Lama helicopter was used for these projects as well.
3.Power Line Inspection Technology
Avion acts as the agent for Aeropower Australia to promote its business in China. Aeropower is a world-leading company specialized in helicopter power line inspection and live-line operation services, primarily utilizing the MD 500 series helicopters for power operation tasks.
Having promoted helicopter-based power operation services in China for many years, Avion has an in-depth understanding of the operational processes and requirements, and is able to provide customers with supply services for helicopter power operation equipment. Such equipment and technologies include line inspection equipment, detection equipment, stringing equipment, tower erection equipment, insulator water washing equipment, conductor maintenance equipment, corrosion detection equipment, computer recording and analysis software and hardware, live-line worker protective suits, and other safety equipment.
4.Personnel Support
For years, in all offshore oil aviation support projects jointly operated by Avion, China Eastern General Aviation Corporation and China Southern Airlines Zhuhai Helicopter Company, all the captains for flight operations have been provided by Avion. In addition to their operational duties, foreign pilots and maintenance personnel also take on the tasks of training and on-site operational guidance. As practitioners demonstrating international general aviation operation standards, they have made an indelible contribution to the standardization of China’s general aviation operations.
For the offshore pilotage project operated by Guangdong Provincial General Aviation Corporation with its base in Shanghai, the captain is Gordon Jones, the Chief Pilot of Avion, and the winch operators are also professional personnel provided by Avion.
For projects involving wet-leased aircraft, where a Chinese navigator is mandatory on board for navigation, Avion is responsible for seeking cooperative partners and providing qualified Chinese operational personnel for such projects.
5.Personnel Training
By the end of 1996, Avion initiated cooperation with China Eastern General Aviation Corporation (Tianjin). Avion provided S-76 pilot and maintenance modification training and flight training for the company, as well as foreign pilots, maintenance personnel and project coordination services.
In 1998, Avion partnered with China Eastern General Aviation Corporation and China Southern Airlines Zhuhai Helicopter Company respectively to provide S-76 helicopter offshore services for Chevron in Dalian and Sanya (three helicopters in total). Avion supplied foreign pilots and maintenance personnel, project coordinators, and also delivered services including flight and maintenance training, as well as safety management.
In 2002, the Ministry of Communications engaged Avion to provide search and rescue (SAR) training for its upcoming helicopter offshore SAR operations — a pioneering attempt at professional helicopter offshore SAR operations in China.
The training was held in Shanghai in February 2002, with 6 S-76 pilots, 2 winch operators and 4 SAR specialists from the Ministry of Communications participating.
6.Project Management
In 1995, Avion collaborated with China Southern Airlines and the Aviation Department of Mobil Oil Corporation to introduce a Citation III business jet for Mobil. Based in Shenzhen, the jet was exclusively dedicated to Mobil’s services. Avion provided a full suite of services for Mobil, covering project planning, partner coordination, budget formulation, contract negotiation, base setup, route planning, document approval and operational personnel deployment.
Avion acts as the authorized agent for Fugro Airborne — the world’s largest aviation geophysical survey company — for its operations in China. In March 2001, Avion managed the aviation geophysical survey project conducted for WMC Resources (a multinational mining company) in the Jinping area of Yunnan Province, and provided full aviation project management services. This operation marked China’s first successful aviation electromagnetic geophysical survey project.
7.Maintenance Management Software
Developed by senior maintenance engineers of Avion, drawing on decades of experience in aircraft maintenance and functional management, the large-scale maintenance management software — Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Management System — covers all aspects of aircraft maintenance management, including: aviation materials management, aircraft monitoring and management, technical document management, scheduled inspection & maintenance and production planning, as well as personnel technical file management.
After being put into practical use by general aviation companies, this software has delivered remarkable economic benefits.
